Monday morning and first community day. Last week was just inductions all day so i haven't had the time to even start my project but i don't mind cause last week was so good! Had a meeting in the morning about what we would do and what we would teach the kids, then we had breakfast and said goodbye to everyone who would leav today. Then we took the truck to the project which is in Gweru and it took around 30min to get there. The boys orphanage was the place we would go to today. When we got there they greeted us and then me and some boys made a puzzle. It was quite a hard puzzle but we pulled it through. Then we sat in groups teaching them english/math/history. I teached english, first we read some books then we went through the alphabet and made up words and drawing with each letter. They are so focused and really want to learn. I played a bit with their dogs also haha, they had two ones and a puppy and i couldn't stop petting and playing with them haha. Then we played a bit, football and skipping rope before lunch. I felt a bit bad sitting there eating the lunch pacage we got from AP while they had sadza...it was quite sad to me. After lunch we sat talking and they showed and taught us some card tricks, then we played some memory and read a book before we went back again. They don't have electricity there and there is around 30boys in this small small house which lookes like a prison and is really old and broken. I can't really imagine how it must be for them but im so glad i could teach them some english and hopefully help them with their education so they can make a better life for themselves. On our way home people waved at us and screamed, it's like youre a celebrity just cause youre a white person. When we got back home we planned some things for tonight then i took a shower and fixed with some laundry. Then we had a meeting and dinner. After dinner me and some others went on night encounter which is that we sit in an open vehicle and follow the lions when they hunt in the evening. We took out the 3 K's, it was so cool to see them hunt and they were so so close several times to kill wilderbeast and impala. After all, the successrate of lions killing is around 30% so i didn't expect us to see them kill but they were so close and it was just so cool to see them hunt, deffinitely will do that again! I was completely frozen though haha but now im warm in bed and will sleep :)
